IT’S ALL ABOUT PEOPLE

For 100 years, experimentation with surfaces, the design of cutting-edge technological solutions, and the study of form – pushing materials to their full potential – have guided Porro’s pursuit of simplicity. A simplicity that emerges from resolved complexities and conquered challenges, thanks to the passion of people and a network of virtuous collaborations.
In its centennial year, the windows of Porro Milano’s showroom – both a flagship store and a symbol of the brand’s philosophy – tell the story of the deep bond between people and Porro’s creations through a graphic project by Graphx, reflecting an ongoing quest for new everyday rituals. Inside, visitors are welcomed into a multifaceted universe where furnishings, architectural systems and partitions work in perfect synergy. Fluid, ethereal spaces that transform hour by hour with the changing light, at times highlighting Porro’s signature clean lines, sophisticated surfaces, or meticulous details.
The journey begins in a striking double-height area, where visitors are welcomed by a showcase of tactile and visual refinement, Ex-Libris by Piero Lissoni features a dark black sugi melamine base and top that enhance the objects displayed within this striking glass case, enclosed by transparent glass Block doors.
Acting as a filter, it introduces the living area – where Porro’s new sofas by Piero Lissoni, Christophe Pillet and Francesco Rota speak an entirely new language of comfort and softness, expanding the brand’s sofa collection for both residential and contract settings.
A contemporary look with couture-inspired, tailored draping: the new Moulage sofa by Francesco Rota, raised off the ground on invisible feet, is composed of large square seat cushions paired with soft armrests and backrests, featuring the refined detail of fabric sculpted into delicate folds. Geometric compositions that appear to float, completed by loose cushions, invite you on a true journey into comfort.
Moulage is presented in three-seater compositions, with or without backrests, arranged around the iconic Ferro low table by Piero Lissoni. With its sensual bronze-finished curvature, it shapes an entirely new relaxation area within the Porro home.
Enhancing the scene, and highlighting Porro’s expertise in creating custom solutions for every space, a breathtaking double-height Modern + Load-it composition takes center stage. Here, white ash wall panels and steel Load-It bookshelves by Wolfgang Tolk form a rhythmic composition, where the elements of the Modern system – designed by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro – interplay like musical notes: from the suspended storage units with glossy Verde Gris lacquered back panels to the suspended top and the floor baseboard.
In the reading corner, the Lullaby armchair by Nicola Gallizia is an object of desire with an unconventional silhouette. Behind its apparent simplicity lie intricate details, such as the curved black-stained solid ash frame and the green tight-fitting cloth covering.
Purity meets precision in the new Prie pouf in black cloth, designed by Francesco Rota, drawing tangible inspiration from the rounded forms of the mineral world. A material-rich piece with a visually and tactilely soft appeal, to be effortlessly arranged in both residential and contract settings, perfectly matching the Romby chair by GamFratesi, whose truncated cone base in black stained solid ash wood, with an exquisite flared shape, is connected to a swivel upholstered seat, soft and compact, covered in emerald green fabric.
In the bedroom, a balance of contemporary style and nostalgia unfolds. The Byron bed by Piero Lissoni contrasts its upholstered frame and soft linen-covered headboard cushions with a screen featuring a black-stained solid ash frame enclosing an intricate woven cane panel.
Craftsmanship and a passion for wood are also evident in the Byron bedside table in black-stained ash, compact in form and with gently rounded edges.
Against a backdrop of Layer wall paneling in white ash, the Storage dressing room is presented with a black metal upright and equipment in black sugi – an enveloping, highly sophisticated finish with a matte ink-black surface and pronounced grain, inspired by the ancient Japanese Sou Sugi Ban technique which preserved cedar wood by charring it with charcoal.
The simple yet refined aesthetic of the poufs Prie by Francesco Rota, presented in the small version in orange cloth and in the big version in natural leather colour, enhances the textile sophistication, featuring contrast stitching and a thicker strap that serves as a handle for easy movement, creating a dynamic layering effect.
Here, sculptural forms and architectural concepts converge in the Twin sideboard in bruno stained ash, designed by Dordoni Studio. Inspired by constructivist geometry, its aesthetic purity stems from the intersection and interconnection of two distinct yet harmoniously connected volumes, creating ever-changing perspectives, further enhanced by the mirror.
To store books, Endless Shelf brings the memory and languages of the past into today's spaces. Designed in 1996 by Werner Aisslinger, this iconic modular bookcase featuring an aluminum die-cast joint was once discontinued but has remained alive in the imagination and desires of enthusiasts. It is now raised on feet and presented in a new, refined finish with evocative striations: solid dark brown stained walnut. The new Cargo sofa by Christophe Pillet creates a waiting area that recalls spaces dedicated to work, transit, or hospitality. It is presented in a composition of soft volumes, with and without backrests, alternated with C-shaped metal or wooden elements: the harmony between volumes of different widths creates a free-flowing sequence of geometries. On the wall, a suspended Modern composition in azuki lacquer recalls the system’s iconic rectangular arrangements from the 1990s. The result is a vibrant, contemporary atmosphere – where past and present engage in a continuous dialogue, shaping an ever-evolving design narrative.
Descending into the dining/office space, the Ventiquattro table by Piero Lissoni commands attention with its daring pursuit of extreme reduction. The rectangular transparent glass top, with softened edges, reveals the tubular metal structure beneath, painted in azuki. In the Sixte chairs by Christophe Pillet, the curved tubular steel frame in a glossy iron finish creates a continuous design in space, embracing two generously padded, curvilinear cushions – one for the seat and one for the backrest – upholstered in dark leather with visible, tailor-made stitches. On the wall, the System HT bookcase, designed by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro, is conceived as a multifunctional composition, offering three distinct yet seamlessly integrated uses. On the left, a display cabinet enclosed by glass doors – hinged only at the top and bottom – creates an uninterrupted, open space. At the center, a large TV compartment is designed to accommodate oversized screens, while on the right, a module with drop-leaf door can be used both as a bar cabinet or as a storage unit. The structural elements of the composition interact through the selected finishes: the eucalyptus mix back panel, arranged in an irregular pattern, forms a checkerboard of light and shadow, further enhanced by integrated ambient lighting. It pairs perfectly with the metallic moka lacquered uprights and the eucalyptus vertical dividers.
Stepping up to the mezzanine level, in the balcony area, Storage Boiserie, designed by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro, features metallic elements in cuvée finish, along with shelves and drawer units in white cherry with glass fronts. These emerge as architectural volumes against the woven cane back panels, further enhanced by integrated lighting.
In the niche, the Origata console by Nao Tamura, glossy azuki lacquered, is a minimalist geometry that frames an ascetic space for work or meditation, offering a surface for writing, reading, or working on a computer.
The bedroom overlooking Via Ronchetti is imbued with the essential intimacy of the Iro bed by GamFratesi – a design that is both simple and refined, featuring two large headrest cushions and a turned black-stained solid ash frame with an 80 mm diameter. Its distinctive corner joint detail recalls traditional Alpine wooden houses as well as the Japanese woodworking techniques used to support tree branches.
A compact cubic volume that opens through a central cut-out, the Offshore bedside table by Piero Lissoni is presented in the Bianco Gesso and Verde Cardo finishes, with a full-extension internal drawer/tray.
In the background, the Load-it bookcase, with steel shelves and 3d castagno bruno panels, is an ideal solution for enhancing a transitional space. It creates a refined home library with an integrated workstation and built-in lighting. For moments of relaxation, the Traveller daybed by GamFratesi – elegant and distinctive – features a black- painted metal trestle structure and side backrests where saddle leather is stretched taut, evoking the craftsmanship of fine saddlery.
The Offshore chest of drawers with 6 drawers by Piero Lissoni, crafted in carmine-stained ash with contrasting interiors in natural maple, sits on a triangular-section base: it features precise 45° joinery at the top, sides, and front – achieved through meticulous woodworking – creating a perfectly finished volume that can be placed freestanding in any space.
The journey culminates in the true heart of Porro’s home – the wardrobe, the ultimate expression of the brand’s customization expertise.
The Storage corner dressing room, designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Center, alternates between transparent sections – either fully open or enclosed by glass doors – and closed compartments featuring the new Portrait doors in rope-colored fabric.
A warm moka finish has been chosen for the structure and metal elements, now available in a new, thinner 25x25 mm profile that lightens the overall composition while allowing seamless integration of different modules.
The Storage back panels and equipment are crafted in the rich, subtly striated tones of the new Eucalyptus23 – one of the refined textures available for Porro wardrobes, exclusively selected and developed for the brand to combine durability with exceptional aesthetics.
At the center of the room, the Storage Isola chest of drawers in taupe lacquer incorporates the standard equipment that makes the Storage night system unique, combining them in an endless series of possibilities. This multifunctional unit completes the dressing room in both residential settings and the most refined contract spaces.
