From 14 November 2007 to 31 January 2008,
Porro showroom in Milan
will be dressed up for Christmas.
For the whole period, inside its renovated spaces, it will host a selection of Christmas decorations of various designers, proposing together with the bright collection of design Christmas baubles by the German company Anthologie Quartett, with pieces created by Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Alessandro Mendini, Giunelli/Panza, Metamoderne, Garouste&Bonetti, Rainer Krause, some new proposals in limited edition signed by Piero Lissoni and Christophe Pillet.
From the purity of simple hyper-transparent blown glass spheres, clear and ethereal decorations precious to the touch and the gaze, to the irreverent cheerfulness of baubles populated with many-coloured spots, condensing the vibrant palettes of the Christmas tree into a single piece.
They range boldly from the more abstract geometrical forms, perfect spheres but also faceted polyhedra, to figurative results, with references to popular folklore, to the planets, to the animal realm.
The result is a rich proposal of pieces ranging from the dream-like to the decorative: to use as gifts, to display or to lock away jealously, like small treasures.
